Description

Walter Battiss Plate for Mervyn Gers StudioWalter Battiss (1906 1982) is widely considered a premiere South African abstract artist. In 2014 the Walter Battiss Company approached Mervyn Gers, a premiere ceramics producers in South Africa, create a limited line of ceramic pieces featuring a selection of Battiss' paintings. This large plate is one of those pieces and is number 1 200 in the series. The series was launched at the Design Indaba Expo in 2014 and this was one of 23 designs released.
